Time for another update, this time for June 2026. With this being the second full month that the local branch has existed, we’ve been getting a good amount done.
Some of the most exciting things we can share with you all were members of the team heading down to London for a strategy day with other Restore members from up and down the country. A fantastic event for getting like-minds together, learning more from those at the forefront of this movement, developing local strategy and getting to meet and hear from the big names. Likewise many local members joined in the support for the Makerfield by-election, once again meeting hundreds of other Restore members and expanding the local network outside of just Lincoln.
Over June, we leafletted a nice neat 100 streets allowing us to get the message into easily over 1000 homes. If you’ve seen the leaflet through your door, that was hand delivered by one of our brilliant local volunteers in their own free time.
In a recent poll nearly 25% of voters questioned didn’t know about Restore Britain. It’s our aim to break past the media and let you judge for yourself.
At our first See It, Sort It day, we removed just over 7 full bin bags worth from the West Common area, and had some promising conversations with interested and curious people and showed real presence in the area. We have however had recommendations for areas that need more support, and will be making the rounds and keeping you up to date on that.
See it, Sort it.
A lot of admin is needed for any new local branch. We’ve got our main team together and are delegating tasks like leafletting, policy writing, social media and more to small focused teams, expanding internal communications, researching FOI strategy, pulling together stats for campaign content, and setting up photo and document organisation. All the drawn out but absolutely necessary things for ensuring we keep this branch moving forward effectively as we grow in size.
We also had our third branch meeting, with great open communication between all people involved and announcing the beginning of our Local Priorities document which will be shared once ready. All our local members have had direct involvement letting us know what the real issues affecting them are, as well as them directly reviewing the first draft of the document. Once complete, this will outline the things we want to tackle in and around Lincoln and how being part of Restore Britain will enable us to do that.
If any of this sounds like something you want to be part of, get in touch with the branch directly, whether that’s to find out more about us or the party, help out with leafletting, or join us for a litter picking session, we’d love to hear from you. And if you’re not already, follow us on our socials and give our posts a share, it all helps get the message further than the media will.
We will put Lincoln first and Restore Britain.
